My Treatment Approach
I practise Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy, a gentle approach that helps the body unwind restrictions, tension and pain. I use my hands to listen to the whole body, allowing its own processes of adaptation and healing to emerge.
Because of its gentle nature, Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages, including babies, children, adults and older people, as well as those recovering from injury or living with more delicate or long-term conditions.

How is it different to other osteopathic treatment?
Structural osteopathy tends to focus on treating the body’s joints, muscles and connective tissues using techniques that may include mobilisation, stretching and joint manipulation.
Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy takes a gentle approach, using subtle hands-on contact to listen to the whole body and support the unwinding of tension, restoring balance and encouraging the body’s natural reorganisation, rather than applying force to create change.
As an osteopath, I have trained in structural assessment and treatment, and I still use structural assessments. My treatments focus on Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy because I have found it to be a profound and effective way of supporting the body’s natural healing processes.
What happens during a consultation?
At your first appointment, we’ll begin by talking about your health, what has brought you to treatment, and what you’re hoping to achieve. There is plenty of time to ask questions during the consultation and treatment, and I always adapt to your comfort and individual needs.
I’ll then carry out a few simply physical assessments before treatment begins.
Treatment takes place with you lying comfortable on the treatment table, either on your back or on your side if that’s more comfortable.
My hands will gently contact various parts of your body depending on what your body needs, to support its natural reorganisation.

What might I experience?
Treatment does not depend on experiencing particular sensations. Many people describe treatment as an opportunity to slow down in a way they rarely do in everyday life.
You will remain fully clothed during treatment and lie comfortable on the treatment table, while gentle contact is made with different areas of the body.
Every experience is unique. Some people notice warmth, gentle movements in the body or a deep sense of relaxation, while other simply become aware of their body settling. As the nervous system unwinds, tissue change begins to occur at a deep level, allowing the body to release tension and contraction. Some people may be aware of movement or twitching as muscles and other tissues release tension.
With ongoing treatment, many people become more aware of their body’s natural responses as change unfolds in its own way.
How many treatments will I need?
Every person is different, so the number of treatments depends on your individual circumstances, including the nature of your concern, how long you’ve had it, and how your body responds to treatment.
For acute injuries or more severe pain, treatment may initially be recommended more frequently before gradually spacing appointments further apart as your symptoms improve. Longer-standing or more complex concerns often require a little more time.
Once your original concern has settled, some people choose regular maintenance treatments to support their overall wellbeing and help their body stay balanced. Together, we’ll discuss a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs and review it as your body changes over time.
